I have an olympus stylus tough. It was a couple hundred dollars when I got it two years ago, but it takes great pictures and salt water doesnt hurt it at all. You cant go diving with it, but at snorkeling depths it is fine.

Some good suggestions were posted in this topic.... viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12353&hilit=video+camera

I am leaning towards getting the Kodak Playsport video and still camera that a few people recm'd. Walmart has an online special going on right now for $109 and the camera bundle comes with the SD card, floating wrist strap, etc.

Just picked up a Panasonic TS10. Haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but so far, the "feature" I think I will like the most, is that it turns on and is ready to shoot in less than 3 seconds.

Lonesouth,
Let me know how easy it is to see what you are shooting with the LCD in bright sunlight, with and without polarized sunglasses.
I had an Olympus that you could not see what you were taking a picture of while outside.

just from toying around with it a little.

1. The screen is easily viewed in direct sunlight, it has plenty of brightness. This is as tested in the parking lot.
2. Polarized glasses dim the screen slightly when turned 45* counter clockwise. But is still discernible what the subject is.
3. Shutter speed is very quick. Taking a picture out the window at 30mph is clear enough to read street signs.

I'll post back after taking it on the boat saturday, weather permitting.

Thanks lonesouth. That is what I was wanting to hear. I have been looking for a camera under $200 that I can use on the boat without fear of water damage.
I think I may have finally found what I have been looking for.

Love my Lumix!

For anyone looking for cheap option, still have one collecting dust that I used before acquiring my Lumix. Here's thread on Olympus Verve I still have collecting dust.

It was sold as weather-reistant (designed to handle rain/not submersion) BUT I ALSO HAVE UNDERWATER HOUSING for underwater use. Was looking to trade for glass costas but have glass pair now... still, wouldn't mind having back-up pair even if poly. Also consider trade for fishing related items or even lowball cash offer as hate to see it unused when someone out there can be using it.
