Old Salt Contest

Post by Waterdog »

You know the new Franklin County slogan is "We're Salty!"

I got an email today from a hotel down there and figured that MANY of you qualify and thought you might be interested....

Before you ask:
Yes, it is my FIL hotel.
No, I cannot enter.
No, he did NOT ask me to Post here.
No, I do not have any connections at the hotel.... I get the High Season rate +10%, when I book a room, that is why I stay in Carrabelle. ;)

Are You An "Old Salt"?

Enter Salty Contest To Win $1200 Seafood Festival Vacation from Water Street Hotel
In recognition of Apalachicola’s maritime heritage (and just in time for the Florida Seafood Festival!) the Water Street Hotel is sponsoring the first annual “Old Salt” contest. Enter and you could win a free stay during Seafood Festival Weekend and lots of other great prizes!

How To Enter
1. Pick your saltiest picture. (This may be your high school graduation picture, recent mug shot or a snap shot someone took on a morning after…)
2. Prepare a short paragraph with a brief description of yourself and why you deserve to be crowned the “Old Salt.”
3. Submit your picture and description to the Water Street Hotel through either Facebook or email.

Facebook: Go to the Water Street Hotel Facebook page and post your picture and statement on our page. Then simply send your entry to all your Facebook friends and ask them to vote for you by liking your entry on our page.

Email: Submit your entry by email to salty@waterstreethotel.com. Then contact your friends in your email address book and ask them to submit a note to salty@waterstreethotel.com with their vote. Make sure they put your name in the subject line so we can accurately tabulate your votes.

Enter now and get your friends to start voting!
The contest will end at midnight on October 15, 2011. All entries and votes will be reviewed and tabulated by our panel of “Salty Judges” and the winner will picked on October 21 and will be crowned at the Water Street Hotel on November 3.

The Winning Old Salt will receive a free weekend stay (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) at the Water Street Hotel during Seafood Festival (valued at $900) and will represent the event and the Water Street Hotel in Apalachicola’s annual Seafood Festival parade at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Winner will also be offered a second weekend stay on January 6 and 7, 2012 (valued at $300) for the Hotel’s charity Rib Cook off to support the Weems Memorial Healthcare Foundation. Winner will also receive full amenities at the hotel and a cocktail reception at the hotel in his honor.

Salty Gals!! Our Old Salt winner’s first duty will be to select his “Miss Margarita” to accompany him on his official duties. So make sure your Old Salt submits your picture and bio to help his campaign.
