Had to do a double-take

Spotted at the seafood market on Monday: Ladyfish, $2.99/lb (more expensive than the mullet by the way, which were $2.49/lb).

Anyone ever try one for anything other than cut bait? There are a few recipes on the web for crab cakes made with them but I don't want to be the first one in that pool.

Best ladyish recipe ever!:
1. Immediately cut into one inch chunks.
2. Lay chunks out on ice cest lid in sun.
3 If drifting, place chunk of fish on 3/0 circle hook 18"-24" below a popping cork, if anchored switch the popping cork out for a lead sinker.
4. Hope something better tasting comes along.

That is funny. What seafood market was it? I'd love to know who is buying ladyfish.

Mike's Seafood and Oriental Market on Capital Circle just north of the Parkway (on the west side of the road).

Will they buy them from fishermen. If so, I may have a new retirement plan!
