Favorite pompano rig?

Post by RudyH »

I've been using a three way rig, with a three way swivel, a pyramid sinker, and a single 1/0 hook baited with fresh shrimp.

What is your favorite pompano rig for clear gulf beach waters?

Thanks!

I have used the 3 hook pompano rigs with the colored foam floats with good success. Three hooks put more bait in the water and stay baited a little longer.

but even if I have a bait rig out I always have a smaller rod with the standby pompano jig either tipped or untipped that I am steady fishing with. High tide they my just be in that trough right at your feet.

Here is something I put up a few years ago... Still do it the same way.

Thanks. Good to know that works well. Thanks for sharing. I'll see if I can find some rigs like that.
