If he is not careful wade fishing he may be more like a meal than a fan. Good luck and enjoy the scenery.

Hail no, just hate to hear about somebody getting run over because they couldn't be seen.

If he is a Gator fan, wear blue.

If you have I bike you may want to try fishing the stoney bayou embankment in the park. With the good high tide at noon there should be decent water back there. Check out the google satellite maps of the park and you will see the embankments, they run along a lot of good creeks.

Also, the other side of the lighthouse canal has a path that leads you to the water and you could then wade that down to the tip, there is a small hole and a sand bar down there that can hold decent fish. Just watch stingrays and sharks...

Andrew, if you are fishing alone be sure to post a fishing plan with someone just in case something happens. Good luck, good fishing and give us a report.

Heck, I might want to brave the yellow flies and red bugs and start wade fishing!

On second thought, NO, that chance was taken many years ago with lots of enjoyment. It made me decide to work hard, save and buy a boat.

Gulp shrimp on a jig head and I like to bring a cast net and catch live pins and mullet and fish them on the bottom.

Good luck arichardh09...I went last thursday...fished for 4 hours and struck out..one small flounder and one short red...the water was a lot cooler than 2 weeks prior so it wont be long now...2 weeks from now it should be on fire and those oyster bars in front of the lighhouse should be boiling with trout and redfish. Over the past 10 years of wading down there, I have found cut mullet and 3" live pinfish fished on a 1/4 ounce jig head works best. Shrimp will get eaten alive by all the smaller trash/baitfish. My two biggest trout I have ever caught have come while i was wading down there around the bars...good luck! FYI..be careful...I saw three Bulls down there last week pushing 7ft! :o

And watch out for this guy. Close to 6'. He liked the pin we were trying to feed the reds with.
