I bought one of those usb thumb drive 4gb storage thingy's to back up all the pics I have on our computer. Over the years I have stored all pics in my documents, never sorting them in to folders. I stuck the thumb drive in to the usb port but nothing happened.
How is this process supposed to work?

Hey Rocket: You should be able to save the photos to the thumb drive directly, i.e. go to the photo, save it under the (whatever drive the thumbdrive is, i.e. D, E, F,). That should do it. I hope this helps.

MAN O MAN, MY OLDEST SON IS RADIOLOGIST AT SHANS IN JAX. HE IS ALSO A COMPUTER ENGINEER, HE CAME OVER LAST NIGHT AND BROUGHT US A NEW ( ACER) COMPUTER DSL WITH A 25 INCH MONITOR, HAS ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. HE SPENT MOST OF LAST NIGHT AND ALL DAY TODAY PROGRAMING IT FOR US. TRANSFERING ALL OUR INFORMATION FROM THE OLD VISIO PUTER TO THE NEW ONE. THIS BLAM THING DOES WHATEVER YOU TELL IT TO DO WITHOUT CLICKING ON A THING. I JUST TELL IT GO TO BIGBENDFISHING.NET AND IT JUST POPPS UP, THEN I TELL IT GO TO OFF TOPIC AND IT GO THERE AND ON AND ON. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SHUT IT DOWN, I WILL HAVE TO GO OVER THE WRITTEN PROGRAM JR. LEFT FOR ME TO LEARN ON HOW TO OPERATE THIS THING. WE HAVE HAD SOME ISSUES WITH THE WINDSTREAM PROVIDER, I THINK MY BOY GOT THEM STRAIGHTEN OUT TODAY, THIS PUTER IS WORKING A LOT FASTER THAN THE OLD ONE BUT THE OLD ONE WORKED A LOT FASTER THAN THIS ONE OR THE VISIO WHEN IT WAS NEW ABOUT 2 YRS,. AGO.
I WOULDN'T HAVE A BLUE IDEA ON HOW TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM, I AM STILL COMPUTER ILLITERATE. HOPE SOMEONE CAN TELL YA HOW TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.

Tell us about the computer "OS, age, brand". It could be the OS dosn't reconize the drive "check the package for compatibility", the USB port could have dust in it "keeping it from making a good conection", or it may be acivating and just not alerting you "does the light come on when you pulg the drive in".
