How do you remove them? Anyone tried to remove them from a gps screen? I've read that soaking in vinegar will remove them but will vinegar harm the screen?

Juan:
I know that products containing alcohol or ammonia are not recommended for GPS screens (these ingredients don't work on water spots anyway). Vinegar really is dilute acetic acid, and I expect that it will readily dissolve water spots. I don't think vinegar (or vinegar in water) would hurt the screen, but (disclaimer) I don't know for sure.
I have read about two products purported to work without damaging the screen . . .
WaveAway and Flitz Polish (liquid or paste), but I haven't used either of them.
Let me know how it works out.

I used the stuff that takes the haze off of headlights and it worked good.

+1 for Dawn, I usually wipe it down right when I get home with a little soap then a damp paper towel and dry it with a soft cloth.
Works great on Costa lenses too.

I had that issue a few years ago. I sent the unit back to the manuf. for a refurb. When I got it back I put a nav protector over the screen.

After that; I just change the protective film if it gets messed up. I never wash the boat with the GPS onboard. I always remove the electronics before I spray down the hull and interior.
I clean the protected screens on the (salty) removed units with lens cleaning fluid from the optometrist's office and microfiber cloths (scope cloths)
