A buddy of mine picked up a sack of Apalach oysters this weekend for a party on Saturday and they were great. A bit on the small side but nice and salty and very meaty. It's that time of the year.

How much did they go for? I saw a local sign for $40 a bushel.

Tried last week to get some Cedar Key oysters while I was in CK but couldn’t find the right person. They had shucked pints but I wanted the unshucked ones.
I did have some from Apalachicola last week and they were pretty good.
It is that time of the year!!

I'll have to ask about the price but I think it was right around what slowroller paid, maybe a bit less.

Mills, do you remember when Road Runner's seafood was open on HWY 27 outside of Colquitt? When I lived down there we would buy a bushel cleaned on ice for $23.00. That was 15 years ago though.

13 Mile in Apalach oysters YUM YUM. Most of the oysters coming out of East bay right now are small. Mile 13 has their own lease and they dreg rather than thong. I think they have better and larger oysters. But TMOI

I was in there last week and the price was $36.00 too.
