Sad to announce that "Jack" Wingate died this afternoon about 2pm. He did a lot for the sport of Bass fishing in his time.

He was a fine man. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to know Mr. Jack.

Every week when Jack would send in his fishing report he would include some local lore and historic bits. He also had the uncanny ability to predict the weather. Gonna miss the old fella. Sorry he had to suffer so. RIP

JACK WOULD LIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY FOR SURE, I COULD LISTEN TO HIM FOR HOURS, TELLING HOW THE SURVEYERS MADE A BIG MISTAKE IN LAYING OUT THE LINE BETWEEN STATES IN NORTH FLA. AND GEORGIA. I GUESS THAT IS ONE REASON I HAVE ONE FIELD, 1/4 IN FLA., AND 3/4THS IN GEORGIA, BOTH STATES TRYING TO GET ME TO PAY TAXES ON THE WHOLE FIELD. THANKS , JACK, FOR ALL THE SPOTS IN SEMINOLE YA GAVE ME, I NEED TO GET BACK OVER THERE AND CATCH SOME OF THOSE BIG SPECKS.
