Fishing the Ochlockonee River

Post by wevans »

Went out of Cow Creek Saturday, warm and foggy :) got in the river about the time they fired off the Bass tourny from the state park :( I proceded to the nerest wooded bank as 17 Bass boats blasted off going 70 ta nothing in a thick fog :hammer: Once they cleared out I decided ta just fish that river bacnk and see what was down there, first fish is a 15" keeper  troll about a mile of that bank with nothing more. Moved over and tried the bank around the state park island, got another just over 15"s and nothing else. Headed over towards the Sopchoppy, made two quick stops on the way with no action, first stop in the Sopchoppy got me one just over 12"s and one missed, nothing else hit on the river so I tried a couple creeks and caught and released around 6 or 8 shorts, then headed home around 2:30 or 3:00 :-D
My partner didn't show for the Newport trip Sunday morning, so I headed back to the Ochlockonee. The river was higher and more muddy than Saturday and to make a long story short, I got skunked  Still two beutifull days on the water though
