Went out today, tired the river, tried the flats, tried the creeks. Ended up with two keepers out of one creek. Probably caught over 75 trout in the river, the biggest going 14.5" Also caught some croakers around 2 or 3 lbs a piece. Anyone ever kept and ate one of these?

WE USE TO EAT CROAKERS WHEN WE CAMPED OUT ON THE N.FLA. BEACHES, THAT WAS ABOUT 80 YRS AGO. WOULD MAKE A FIRE OUT OF DRIFT WOOD, PUT THE CROAKERS ON A STICK AND COOK THEM OVER THE FIRE, PRETTY GOOD COVERED WITH BAR B/Q SAUSE.

Croakers are real good eating fish to me. Lot's are caught in the Chesapeake. I think they are in the same family as Reds. 2-3lb Croakers are nice size. They are scrappy fighters too.
