Hello all,

I've just moved to the Tallahassee area. I'm originally from Gainesville and have spent the last 13 years in New England. I grew up on the Gulf, Steinhatchie, chasing Grouper, Snapper, Trout and Reds. For the past several years I've fished south of Cape Cod for Tuna, Mahi, White and Blue Marlin. My boat is coming down in March, keeping it in Carrabelle. What is the offshore scene like here and when does it heat up?

Thanks,

GeneO

Welcome,

Best grouper fishing in the gulf will be at your doorstep. Not quite the best in everything else, but probably a close second in most categories. An overall A+ in fishing opportunity.

I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Welcome GeneO. The grouper are out there now. Ya just have to find the right depth and give them what they want. The action will pick up in the next month.

Check out the BBFN Social thread, and come on to Newport and meet our folks this Saturday.

Head south from Tallahassee on Woodville Highway. Turn left at the caution light in down town Waukulla. Go about 2 miles and turn left at the stop sign at Highway 98. Look to your left as soon as you cross the St. Marks River bridge.
