Looking for a good used complete lower unit for a 1987 90hp Johnson motor. Any of the following will work. 1980-1991, 85-120hp, 20inch, Johnson or Evenrude will work.

Yes Sir, my ride is DOA. Found a used one for $500. this morning from a dealer in Albany. No warranty. Otherwise, I'm looking at $1,500. for a new one. My prop is also bent.
Have no idea when it happened. Have never hit anything hard enough for me to be concerned. Never had any problem with the unit out on the water. Discovered all this when I was checking the oil in the lower unit.

Gears, prop shaft and practically everything in it needed replacing. Pricing rebuild, it would cost me almost $2,000. I found a new one for $1,500. They are normally around $2,900.
Sucks big time. The NADA on my motor is only $2,000.

This sure looks like an opportunity to me. :D I know you have folks that you can ride with, but I'd be glad to carry ya out with me. Could probably learn some good stuff. Send me a pm if you'd be interested over the next few weeks and good luck with your search.
