870 will last the rest of your life. FWIW. I have a Magnum that is 20+ years old. Had to replace the stock and it is still going strong. Killed tons of turkeys and ducks. If you have a son, get him his own, cause mine has now claimed mine (it is a 26" barrel - he likes it better than his 28" barrel )

I THOUGHT I HAD A 36" ITHACA, GUESS MY YOUNGEST HAS TAKEN IT, IT WAS A GREAT DUCK-TURKEY GUN, DBL. BARREL 12 GAGE, KICKED LIKE A MULE BUT IT WOULD BRING THOSE DUCKS AND TURKIES DOWN IN A HEART BEAT.
