I am looking for a place on the river that will give access to both river fishing and also being able to fish the bay. I am about to retire and would like a getaway place (nothing fancy) to go and fish. Any suggestions on were to start looking?

Pops- there are a lot of places on the market. I like Panacea, great ramp, Grocery and the Marina. There are several small homes that are very inexpensive and near the Marina.
If you want bay view the condos off Mashes Sands Road are nice and have easy access to the ramps.
There are houses along both Mashes Sands and Surf Road.
There are homes are every price point in both areas.

Its my "home" fishing waters so I'm very familiar with both areas.

You picked the right time pops. Mr. Bevis can show you a lot of options, as that is one place I was also looking (mine fell through as I was buying with someone). That is a nice location and easy access both east and west. There are a lot of great deals out there right now at all price levels.

I would look at Mashes or Surf road. Great access to both river and Bay fishin But check the flood plain out real well
