2012 Ling Ding Cobia Tournament
Posted: January 27th, 2012, 8:58 am
The 98 Real Estate Ling Ding is set for 2012 so please mark your calendars and come fish with us this year! We had a great tournament last year with 63 boats and hope to have an even better turn out this year. Here are the details for the tourney:
Dates: April 6 - April 21
Fishing Days: Friday through Sunday each weekend of the tournament.
Fee: $150 per boat
Registration: Mexico Beach Marina and Half Hitch Tackle in Port St. Joe (I know most of you guys live a good distance away from these sites so contact me and I can get you registered and mail your registration slips to you.)
Launch sites: Anywhere between Crooked Island and Indian Pass
We will have a kick off party and raffle Friday night April 6 at Reagan's Oyster Bar in St. Joe Beach with specials on food and drinks, and we will also have a party for the final weigh in just like last year at Mexico Beach Marina. We are tweaking the official rules from last year and I will post them as soon as we finish them up. We will have weekly winners again this year for the biggest fish caught and the grand prize winner will win upwards of $3000 this year for the overall biggest cobia. There is a $1000 prize for the biggest spanish mackeral this year sponsored by Mexico Beach Marina as well. We will be donating some money from the tournament to the Wounded Warrior Program again as we believe this is a great cause and awesome support system for our wounded veterans. The cobia fishing was awesome last year and with the warm temps early this year we can only imagine that the fishing will be hot again, so if you ever wanted to come spend a weekend in Mexico Beach or Port St. Joe and have some awesome fishing please join us this year! If you have questions or need any more information on the tournament please call my cell anytime. Thanks and see you in April!!
