TOden, Wolfeman and I took another trip down South to wrap up our season.

My main goal was a Mottled Drake. Ive never shot one before.
First hunt out we hear Quack coming into the decoys. Boom Splash.
I think I have my duck but as I walk up I see this:


Ended up being a really cool looking hybrid. The Green Mohawk was sweet!

Although its nice sleeping later than 3am, I'm sorry to see this season end.
Now its time to get the fishing equipment ready!

Congratulations. Didn't get to make the southern pilgrimage this year due to work, but next year, I am busting out!

I was going to mention that I wouldn't hang shot birds by their feet for even a short time, too much of a chance that gut juices will get up into the breast meat, but as that would be a bit like teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs, I won't.

Congrats on the Mottled/Mallard. Those BBWD dekes are gorgeous too.
