Any one used the Talon?

What are the differences in use?

The April issue of Salt Water Sportsman will have my Boat Talk column discussing this very issue, bman. Pros and cons of each.

By the way, really don't know how I ever fished without my Power-Pole Signature. Love it!

I've been very happy with my Talon.

Don't know about a Talon, but when I looked at a Power Pole it was very pricey, and the remote was extra on top of the pricey!!! I got a Wang Anchor that works real well for under $200. Quick, quiet, and easy to deploy when I'm in an area that I want to "Hang Out With My Wang Out!" . I use it on a 16' aluminum Polar Kraft and would reccommend the 10' instead of the 8'. The 8' is good to 3+ ft. but I have wanted to stake out in 5+ and can't quite reach it. Of course it is hard for me to fish away $3,000 of price difference, I just don't get out often enough to justify a big ticket accessory.

i have the power pole and i love it. it'll stop your boat in mid driff with no problems unless there's cat 5 winds out there. i actually got one for sale depending on if you're looking for a used one or not.

Love my power pole. Mike's marine gave me a great price compared to others in town.

I have the Talon and find that it serves my needs fine. It has the deployment warning signal, It is removable from the boat in a few minutes if you wish to take it off when traveling out of town and staying in hotels. I have been able to adjust for fishing off the back deck with the Talon. It also has a bolt to raise the anchor pin if you lose power.

I use a 15 pound lead anchor. Deploys easily,quiet,no need for remote control,no hindrance for back deck casting,works at depths to 25 feet.

X 2, But I still want a Talon or a Power Pole thought someone on here said the Talon weighs less than the P/P in a thread last year

I have a Talon on my 19 Clearwater bay and have been very happy with it. I had a roll pin come the second trip I used it. took it bak to the dealer for repairs and minnkota replaiced the complete unit. I couldn't be happier with it or the service

The actual units weigh pretty close to the same but, the Talon has no pump. Just a single wire, standard with 2 remotes, deployment warning and if for some reason it won't retrieve a 7/16" socket wrench will bring it right back up.
Either way, I'm sure you'll be happy, I've been happy with my Talon.
