Anyone have a Lanark Report?

Post by rockyg »

I may be able to fish over that way this weekend. Anyone been out around the reef, Dog or St.George recently. I'd like to put my dad on a keeper to break in his new frying pan. A trout, red or even a spanish would do the trick.

We fished turkey point and lanark last weekend. Fished the incoming and hi tide. Our best trout came from turkey point. We didn't do as well in lanark. We did best in 3-4 feet, gulps and paddletail grubs on a jighead. Good luck

Fishing has been real good! On a high tide fish the docks or pound the shoreline on 98 for reds! Trout bite has been in 3.5-4', I have been using stick baits or jerk baits. Been using Aqua Dream spoons for the reds!

Stop by the store and I can point you in the right direction!

Hey Culrich, where exactly is your store? We are going out Saturday morning and this will be our first time down there. Really looking forward to catching a couple keepers. Thanks in advance!

The ramp on Hwy 98 (behind Carson's store) is owned by the Lanark Village Boat Club. It is fully operational.

$10 daily launch fee or annual passes are available.

Stay in the channel and watch your depth until you get out. Can get skinny at times and the breakwater has lots of rubble/concrete.

Do you guys have Live Shrimp at the store? As a long time fly fisher guy it pains me greatly to ask but my father is an unreformed bait fisherman.

I haven't seen you at the reunions. My Dad is the same way.

Might have been there........he's hard to pick out in a crowd of grumpy old fisherman.

He has always been a firm believer in a frisky live shrimp and catch-n-fillet.

With any luck we will break in our (his) new (to us) bay boat with some keepers in the live-well tomorrow.
(Silverking has promised to show us his "holes") :smt006
