my buddy and i along with his wife and my girlfriend :smt012 ( patiences run short ) headed down to econfina about 645 sunday morning. get to the boat ramp around 8ish and stop by the store. grabbed a few things from the store as normal one of the items was a bag of ice... got outside to the boat and noticed my brand new cooler 94qt igloo marine cooler is no longer in the boat :smt010 and when i say brand new i mean has only been opened once to look inside when i got it last week. so that rained on my day for a few hours it was a quiet boat ride out of the river. so as i contined my day in hopes of everything getting better and maybe just maybe someone would find it on the way and say something or i would find it on the way home, didn't happen. headed east out of the river and within a few cast first trout was in the livewell then the 2nd, 3rd etc got about 10 keepers before 11 when low came in. ended the day with about 10 keepers along with 2 huge spanish. headed back to boat ramp with a livewell somewhat full and now a nice little sunburn. all in all beside me losing my cooler it ended up being a pretty good day if anyone found that cooler i would greatly appreicate it if you could maybe give it back ha but i don't think my luck is that good.

hope everyone who went out had a good turn out made it there with their coolers and made it back to land safely.

i'll edit this in a few and add the picture of fish we caught!
everyone have a nice Monday

*Edit* i forgot to mention what i was catching them on, almost all of them came from a jerk shad (Gulp) color is GLOW 5 inch, just a jerk shad with a jighead was all they seem to want i caught one of the spanish on a BA swim bait electric chicken , and the rest came from a white gulp jiggin off the bottom. couldn't get any bites off and of my hardbait lures but, had a few blow ups from a top water but no takers. plan on heading down there again if the weather lets me this weekend

I hate the news about the ice chest....I also headed down to Econfina yesterday (report will follow). I, like you, made the mistake of putting something in the boat that would have probably have faired better had it been in the bed of the truck. I think the inside of a boat must create a vacuum and lift things right out at highway speeds. When I got to Econfina I realized a small orange bucket I use as a make shift tackle box was no longer with me :( . GOOD NEWS ! (kinda) on my way into town this morning I spotted the orange bucket on the side of the road. It had been hit pretty hard, some tackle survived and some did not....

I hope your cooler shows up and is in better condition than my tackle bucket is.

Glad your day at the coast was successful

Ditto on stuff flying out of the boat. Last weekend, one of my tackle boxes flew out and I got a call later in the day from a biker that found it. He sent it out to me the following Monday. Good folks!

Who has never lost anything out of the boat? We have but bad experience is a good teacher.

Sorry for your loss, it happens. Physics works that way!

yeah i was just having a hard time believing that made it out of the lean post from behind the center console and then up and over the back deck and past the poling platform and power pole. i wasn't running very fast so i have no idea. for peace of mind tho i wish i knew that it did fly out and someone got it instead of somebody stealing it from me they would just eat me up knowing that but, in these days i wouldn't put it past them

Welby, I almost got home but had flat tire on front right.. found a pair of pliers, Rattletrap and various jig heads stuck in the tire. The right side trailer tire got blown out and the boat and trailer flipped over and the motor became dismounted, hit an oncoming police vehicle. Got arrested for not keeping it under control.
Can't replace just the two tire but had to put on a whole new set of 6 sos to have matching tires. The subrogation by the police comes to $11,528.72 and the tire repolacements ran $975 'cause I buy cheap tires. Insurance is taking care of the rest but my rates will probly go up. Please drop $20k by - cause I like even numbers and want to give youa break...and I'll return your missing tackle :o

Man, that is a full grown Spaniard. Glad you were able to get out. I went to the ramp but turned around after 30-40 minutes of watching the wind. My 14' Carolina Skiff just beats you to death in those kind of conditions.
