That really stinks. He was a really cool guy. We just recently traded a few emails over the past few weeks. We've lost a great man in our fishing community for sure.

Interesting sportsman. His show was my favorite. RIP. God be with his family.

Very sad news. Jose was a great angler and a good man. He always took the time to chat with me whenever I saw him at the boat shows or at the Shimano events. He'll definitely be missed.

RIP Jose, I have been a fan of his shows since I was old enough to hold a rod.

I use his peanut butter cracker technique when the fishin is slow...RIP Jose, may your lines be tight and your coolers full. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends in this tragic time.

A fishing great that I have always wanted to fish with. I was told he was a good guy, but never got a chance to meet him.

One of the best fishing shows on TV. To the family, I'am sorry for your loss.

Sure enjoyed his programs. He always seemed real and I felt like he was always trying to teach. Sad news indeed.

I feel a sense of loss.... I've admired this guy's fishing show on t.v. for years. Condolences to friends and family. A sudden loss like this is a constant reminder of the need for considering eternal salvation and for me to live daily with the right priorities.
