Sail attachment and pontoons

Post by Dockwilson »

Does anyone have or use a sail on their fishing kayak? Seems like it would get in the way, but would be fun.
Also wondering if anyone uses pontoons so you can stand.

Not a lot of folks around here use the sails. I had one once and it was a pain. I fish out of a Malibu Stealth now and I stand a lot, no need for pontoons. If you want to stand an fish, you need to choose your yak carefully. Stability is usually sacrificed for lack of speed. My kayak is slower than others I have had in the past but it is great for what I do.
