New Motor Question

You'd think after the hundreds of outboards I've owned over the years, I wouldn't have to ask such a simple question. But I do! The question.....I just bought a used 15hp Evinrude this morning. Had to drive four and a half hours to pick it up, so you could guess I was impressed with what little I knew of it enough to drive that far to get it.
The model number is E15WRSSC. I know the ole INTRODUCES method for figuring out the motor, but this one has a few tricks up it's sleeve. In the model number the "E" is Evinrude. The "15" is the horse power. The "W" stands for commercial. The "R" is supposed to be shaft length, as in "S" for short, "L" for long. That's the first question I have. Mine has an "R." The "R" is not listed on the factory chart anywhere for shaft length.
The other question is, it's a "Commercial" designation. Even has it on the cowling. What is the difference between the commercial and the other motors. The "SS" stands for 2000 year model. The last letter "C" I never concern myself with. Some meaning important only to the factory I would guess.
The fellow I bought it from, said he bought it new out of the crate in 2007. Only used it three times since then. It is show room perfect! Not even a minor scratch on it any where. Looks like it just came out of the box.
To review my questions:
1. What does the "R" stand for on shaft length?
2. What is the difference between the regular 15 horse motor and the 15 horse commercial.
3. Someone told me that Suzuki made that motor, is that true?

Well, after a lot of research I'll answer my own question, (just in case anyone ever ask ya'll again.)
The 2000 15hp Commercial two stroke Evinrude (Model No. 15WRSSC) is different from the recreational motor in many ways.
1. Bare bones motor. (pull start, no bells and whistles, stictly business.)
2. One of the last motors still built under OMC before Bombardier took over the company.
3. Special heavy duty water pump with stainless steel liner.
4. Shot peened driveshaft for longer life.
5. Better seal on cowling.
6. Upgraded bearings.
7. Larger anticorrosion anodes.
So, for me to be lucky enough to find one in almost new condition is great. A 2000 model that was sold out of the crate in 2007. Used three times in fresh water. The almost nine hours drive to pick it up was worth it. All them creek trout and reds beware this year, cause I'm coming to get you.
Do you think I'll notice any difference between the 15hp I had on the boat, from the new one?

The one mounted on the boat will probably push better than the one mounted on the trailer.

Fishinfool,
Not quite sure how to take your statement..
"The one mounted on the boat will probably push better than the one mounted on the trailer." Do you mean the new one on the boat will push the boat better, and the one mounted on the trailer will push the trailer better??
Or do you mean the new one will push the boat better than the old one will push the boat? Or..... do you mean......ah heck man forget it!!!
Think I might just mount them both and make me a cool little jonboat with twin 15's on it.

I would guess I'd draw plenty of stares idling down the canal at Keaton Beach with a set-up like that, wouldn't I.

It don't run. It was running fine, until one day when I came in from fishing and started to pull the boat onto the trailer. It wouldn't shift out of forward. Guess it's something to do with the lower unit. I was thinking about just selling it as a parts motor. Also, it's been sitting up for two years. Don't think it would be cost worthy to repair it. It's a 1976.

HEY BILLY, I TRIED TO SEND YOU A REPLY ON THE PRIVATE MAIL BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THAT OLD J.D. MOWER I HAVE IS AT OUR RIVER PROPERTY IN JACKSONVILLE. I HAVE NOT USED THE MOWER IN ABOUT 15 YRS. THE ENGINE WAS SMOAKING PRETTY BAD AND IT INVOLVED ME HAVEING TO DRIVE ABOUT 4 HUNDRED MILES TO DO THE MOWING. I FINALLY TALKED MY SON TO DO THE MOWING ON THE PROPERTY AND HE HAS BEEN DOING IT FOR THE LAST 15 YRS. I WILL GET HIM TO GO BY AND CHECK THE DECK ON THE OLD MOWER AND SEE IF IT IS WORTH GOING THAT FAR FOR. IF IT IS ANY GOOD YOU CAN HAVE IT, E.J. IS GOING TO CHECK IT OUT THIS WEEK-END , HE WILL CALL ME AND LET ME KNOW WHAT KIND OF SHAPE IT IS IN. I WILL GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH YOU AS SOON AS E.J. CALLS ME.
