It really depends on what kind of seafood restaurant you like. If you are talking fried southern style, then you have plenty of choices, all fairly good of that type. The ones previous posters mentioned are fine. IMO, Tallahassee lacks a higher quality locally owned non-chain restaurant that specializes in seafood only, sourced locally and cooked in a variety of styles (not just fried) with more complicated presentations and sides. Generally, you will have to go to Apalachicola to find those. In Apalach I recommend the Owl and Tamara's.

We do have several locally owned and run restaurants that serve a lot of excellent seafood entrees among other choices. The best, IMO, is Kool Beanz, and it is moderately priced. Cypress is also excellent, but pricey.

Or you could get me and JT to cater a seafood dinner for you and your guest. I think you have eaten some of our cooking before a Lake Talquin about four or five years ago.

Wharf Express is not bad. Bonefish is very good. A little on the fancy side and pricey too. But the food is good. JW

Spring Creek Restaurant in Spring Creek is the best seafood in the area... hands down. You also won't meet a nicer bunch of folks than the Lovell family.
