I have a few questions for the board...
What time do the gates open in the am to get to the lighthouse ramp and how much is it?
Is there a place on the way from Tallahassee to get marine fuel? I think Shields does? but what time do they open?
We plan on waking up at 5am and putting in the water at 7am, but low tide is at 7am...will there be enough water to put in at the ramp? (16 ft carolina skiff)
I havent fished the lighthouse in about a year and would appreciate any and all info, thanks guys.

Gate usually opens at 6. The fee used to be $3, but a signed federal duck stamp will also get you in. If it is a negative low tide, there will not be much water on the ramp. Crum's has ethanol free gas, but that will be out of your way.

Shields opens at 7 a.m.
Gulf Coast Lumber in Woodville opens early and I believe they now carry non-ethanol. Hopefully Gulf Coast will confirm.

It's 5 dollars at lighthouse per day or 15 for year pass.

Gulf Coast lumber has non ethanol gas. It is the pump on the side. Not the main gas pump. They usually also have live shrimp if you are in to that kind of thing. Low tide is + 1.0' so you should have no trouble getting out. Good luck

The info for the Wildlife refuge is mostly correct. The gates are supposed to open at 6am. the timer is sometimes late and they don't usually open until 6:10. The entrance fee is $5.00 and an annual pass is $20.00. Also a Federal duck stamp still gets you no charge access.

Bert Thomas' grocery store has ethanol free gas and the open at 5:45am it is on the right hand side of the road a little before Jerrys bait and tackle.

Awesome guys. Thanks a lot. We had the year pass a couple years ago and definitely got our money's worth - I'll probably buy one tomorrow.

Federal Duck Stamps are Valid from June to June. So unless you are a Duck Hunter and have buy one every year anyways, the yearly pass may be better for you right now.
I don't think the 2012/2013 stamps are out right now, so the current stamp, if bought for $15, would only be good until June.

I just got an annual pass in Feb. It was $15.00. Have they raised the fee since then?
Burt Thomas Grocery south woodville has boat gas too.
