Discovered today that there are very b-b-b-big cudas and goliaths around ....wow!
Seen cudas here, but never that big - 6ft. My first encounter with a goliath. Had to be over 200.
Eyes were buggin"!
They were chasing gags and cobes as we pulled them in. Did I mention the tiger sharks?
Tagged my first cobia of the year, would have tagged a couple more but was interrupted by bent rods.
Cobes, gags and nice flatties came home with us, but all in all, the fish won today, they were brutal. 20ft.

YOU HAD BETTER BE CAREFUL AROUND THOSE JEW FISH, SOME OF THEM ARE BIG ENOUGH YOU COULD PUT YOUR HEAD IN THEIR MOUTHS. I HAD ONE ATTACK ME ABOUT 35 YEARS AGO OFF TAMPA BAY OVER NEAR WEADONS ISLAND, HE SCRAPPED ME PRETTY GOOD ON MY RIGHT LEG FROM THE KNEE DOWN TO MY TOES. I DID NOT TAKE CARE OF THE SCRAPE AND GOT IT INFECTED, TOOK A LOT OF ANTIBIOTICS AND TIME TO GET IT HEALED AGAIN.

It would have taken more than antibiotics to save me if i had jumped in the other day.

Lots of giant cudas out around the AF towers. Most have leaders and hooks hanging off their jaws. We had two launch 6+ feet in the air and nearly come in the cockpit one time as they chased our kings. Scary looking at a mouthful of teeth coming at you at Mach 1.
I can count on one hand, however, the little ones I've seen on the flats. Multiple reasons, I suspect. Our habitat isn't their favorite (no mangroves, except small stand on Dog Island) and water gets too cold.
Sounds like you've got the near-coastal scene dialed in, Woopty.

I used to hang in the keys alot and I never saw one that big.
I tried to take a pic with my phone but it doesn't do it justice.
