As a general rule am I ok to run without fear of rocks anywhere outside of the stake line between St Marks and the Aucilla area? I will be at St Marks this weekend and plan on running to the Aucilla area one morning to try for some topwater trout and reds around the rocks. I know that once inside of the stakeline I better idle or use the trolling motor. I just want make sure that I am ok until I go back inside the stake line.
Thanks for any info anyone can give.

So Peters Rock is deep? I have seen most of the other named ones, but not that one. I marked it on my GPS in case I ever wanted to make that run in my "go fast" boat.

Once you get inside the stake line, if you are not familiar, be real careful. Them rocks migrate at night in Aucilla.

Peter's Rock is deep. Cobb Rocks is less deep.

Wouldn't Peters rock be considered "inside" the stake line?

Dunno, Never been right to it. It looked on the overhead to be south, but I have been on both ends-just never run the whole way.

Well, either way, Peters is deep enough to not be a worry (imo)

On a minus tide Peters rock is pretty close to the surface. I fished it this past Tuesday morning and about all we caught was short bsb's and lizards ! This was at low tide. Actually there are a lot of rocks around there and right now, spotty bottom.

I believe that Peter's Rock is outside of the stake line where the stake line (bouys at that point) turns back to the Aucilla.
