Been fighting water stains on my outboard foot for years....tried everything & nothing worked. Finally ran across a bass forum & someone said to use furniture polish or white vinegar. Put both on the Mercury....the white vinegar & some elbow grease took it off...looks like new. Give it a try

Did you use the vinegar full strength or diluted? The water at my boat house is very hard and I've had the same problems. Doesn't show as bad on the white, but I know it's there.

Thanks for the tip, Chalk.

So how's the new rig?

Straight vinegar & a good rag....I fought it on the HPX for three years...5 minutes on the Merc & it was gone....need to wax after the vinegar.

Got the motor on & all the rigging done...had to order new cables, harness & water pressure gauge should be on the water this coming weekend.

You can also use vinegar to eat away corrosion on boats. I have a removable stern light that mounts into the transom and it is always corroded. But a q-tip dipped in vinegar always brings it back to life. Very versatile stuff.

Another trade secret gone. Murphy's Oil applied 50/50 with h2o will keep it from coming back. White vinegar in your laundry will also cut down on your lint. I use it when I wash a load of my microfiber shop towels

Start your dishwasher then add 1 quart white vinegar and let it fish the cycle.
(NO DISHES,run it empty)
