Daniel, Josh(From sylvester area too) and I got to the landing a little after 7:00 and headed out. All reports were catching them deep so we started in 7'. !st time Josh has fished with us and we all got along great. The wind was whipping and it was whitecapping most all day. Water temp was 78-79 degrees and clear everywhere. Had to throw the drift sock out just to slow the drift enough to fish. Bites were very hard to feel. We tried shallow as well but all our fish came from 7-10' deep. We wound up with 4 trout and 10 nice black sea bass. Met Knot on Call at the ramp. He was having moter trouble but said he thought it had worked itself out. Tough fishing but the wind felt great today.

Yea we sputtered around all day. Sounded like it was missing and would only run about 10 mph. Finally after the no wake sign in the river it kicked in and ran great. Guess a horse knows when he is close to the barn. We had 6 trout and 1 sea bass. Took 5 trout to warrior's tournament but we weren't anywhere near the top. Great tournament for a great cause though. Big shout out to Capt. Mcgriff and his fishing partner for donating their prize money back to the family the tournament was held for.

You been running Ethanol gas? Might have run some gunk through the fuel system.

Yea we have been using it and need to not use it, but I think this is something with the spark plugs and the connection. Brand new plugs but when I wiggled the wires that connected them the motor would get a little more power. Going to mess with it some this week and try to figure it out.

I add "double" the recommended amount of "Seafoam" to my gas every time i fuel up, and of course run the engine dry of any fuel after cleaning and storing my boat...

Yes avoid Ethanol at all cost. Dont use in anything that sits for more than 2 weeks at a time.

I was always told to fill up after a trip so condensation doesn't occur in your gas tank. If this is correct, how do you not use gas older than 2 weeks. Unless you fish and use a full tank every week.

What you do is good but the point is, most people dont burn out a full tank every time. If you let Ethanol sit in a tank(say for a couple months) it will absorb enough water to phase separate. Leaving a layer of gas on the bottom with almost no octane(wont burn) and a top layer of ethanol, water and octain(also wont burn). Once it separates no treatment will do anything for it. Why have to worry about it(ethanol) If you run real gas and keep stabil in it to keep it fresh. It will never absorb enough water that your water separating filter cant take care of it.

As i said, i run the fuel out of my engine after every trip. That is great for my carbs, but the next problem is the fuel primer bulb, where the gas remains. Talk to the repair shops and they will tell you the basic lifespan of the primer bulb is one year due to ethanol. Thats why i carry a spare "on board".
