Keaton Beach 06/17/12 Afternoon
Posted: June 17th, 2012, 11:40 pm
My girls wanted to go fishing for Fathers Day... of course I had to wash and load the boat but who am I to complain???
Hit Keaton about 2:00 PM with a buddy in his new to him boat and our Bay Reef.
Water was slick as glass, ran WOT and hit about 46 MPH with a full tank of gas and full load
Another boat was fishing where I was headed but with temps near 80 decided to stay out a little deeper 6' -8'. Not much going on until my wife mentioned that her pinfish seemed to be acting funny. Before I could tell her to hold on off it went, had her screaming, me trying to tell her to follow it to the back of the boat before she got cut off and bang it was gone. Never got eyes on it but something nice.
A few minutes later same thing except this time she was a little more prepared... bow to stern, back to the bow, under the bow, around the bow and finally in the net. 26 1/2" so into the cooler it goes. My youngest daughter caught a good keeper trout, several sharks and got cut off several times. She was excited about catching her first shark but no longer wants to drag her toes in the water.
Caught a number of short trout and saw some other sharks cruising around. Not much activity on the Gulp today everything on pinfish live and dead.
