Let me start this post by stating that I am a dedicated shore angler (I'm too poor to own a boat, and too new to the area to know anyone to team up with), and I have had some pretty good success fishing Bald Point and the boat ramp at Ochlockonee bay bridge. I almost always get SOMETHING worth throwin' in the pan, even when those around are getting nothing but bait-stealers. Lately, however, it seems my jedi skills are amiss. All I have caught are the legendary Goliath Sailcat, and the elusive micro-shark (baby I-don't-know-what-the-hell-species sharks). I have read conflicting reports about fishing after Tropical Storms/Hurricanes ranging from fishing so good that they practically filet and cook themselves for you to absolutely atrocious. I was thinking of loading up the gear tomorrow and giving it a shot. I want to know if anyone has any stories/suggestions relating to this.

I has "that feeling" in my gut, JT. I'll probably head to Bald Point tomorrow. The storm should keep all the damn kids at bay for at least a few more days, so hopefully I'll have the place all to myself. Wife is pregger and we got an appointment in the morning, and I, pretending to be a good husband, am obligated to go. So I'll probably miss fishing the tide. You think not fishing the tide properly will make a difference??

I think missing the pregger appt. will make a bigger difference.

Don't think that's an option. She started sharpening her knives when I mentioned high tide is in the AM.

Anyone know if any boat ramps in the area will be operational tomorrow? Shields, the fort, lighthouse?

Not that I am an authority on the subject, as I have no boat, the one at the Ochlockonee Bay Bridge is probably fine. It's off the main coast a bit, and I haven't read anything about 98 being closed in that area. All the road closures are going toward Spring Creek, Shell Point, etc.
