Went this afternoon to a spot I frequent near the mouth of Ochlockonee Bay and caught 8 Reds in a little over an hour. The water was less than 4 feet deep and was absolutely boiling with reds. Broke every supposed "rule" there is about catching Reds. In all my trips my trips I have never encountered a bite like this. It was during the heat of the day, absolute slack tide, and during a crappy phase of moon. One thing I did notice was that in spite of slack tide, there was a steady current, probably due to all the drainage. Tasted the water and it tasted like pure river water. No detectable salt. The fish didn't seem to mind one bit. Unfortunately, the wife was with me and is pregnant and was getting overheated, so we had to leave almost right away. Am going first thing in the AM to give it a shot solo. All that being said... I wouldn't advise going deep as the previous post suggests. Good luck.
