I got this thermometer at Christmas but had not used it till a few weeks ago.

It syncs up with an iPhone app. Really thought it was a gimmick until I used it.
Turns out its a great tool that made the process a lot easier and more fun!

It has two sensors so you can cook two different items- or locate hot spots on a grill

The back chicken in this photo cooked a little faster than the front.

You can also chart the temps...

You can even download the entire graph as a PDF

The best part is since it connects with Bluetooth I can be in the house and still see the temps on the grill in the cookshed- and its 30 yards from the house!

Used it on the chickens, a whole hog

And the results were great!

Question, how many probes can it handle at a time?

Not sure what the name of it is but we use one that gives the meat temp and grill temp. You can also set the meat temp you want to reach.

Cooking to a temperature makes the difference in BBQ !!! I used to cook pork chops until they were "cardboard"!! One suggestion, read up on the maximum temperature those probes can be exposed to. If you wrap two layers of tin foil around the probe wires, you will protect them from high temperatures. Sometimes you have hot spots inside your grill from grease dripping and flashing, and if the probe wire is over it, you can easily exceed the probes design limits.

That right there is funny

Two probes.. and they make one for ambient temperature.

Trying to decide if I want to get it or just a normal one to mount on the cooker.

Micci Man - this one has an alarm that goes off when it reaches internal temp.
A little popup on the phone says "Your Food is ready!"
