Question guys-
Can I launch a 22 ft Bay Boat at the fort, and hang a right and get up the Wakulla River? Or is boat too large? I thought I had tried years a go and it got too shallow not far from the turn there? Thanks!

There are a few shallower stretches, especially about 1/4 mile above Shell Island Fish Camp. But if you take it easy, you'll be fine. No worries at all with a jackplate and with the normal traffic (boats/kayakers/canoes) you can't run fast much anyway.

There is a channel all the way up that is deep enough for your bay boat. It isn't marked, but it's there.

You will have no problem, I take a 230 proline all the time. Becarefull going under the bridge if it is high tide.

Check out Google Earth to see the channel. You can make it up the river.

The channel is usually marked with crab traps.
