Hit the ramp around 8:00 this morning and headed out, ran up around the mouth of the Aucilla River and eased my way in close to a point. Cut my engine and will quietly get closer with my trolling motor!! Select my fishing rod with a gold spoon. Ease my wireless trolling motor over the side and back up for my first cast. Look down to turn the trolling motor "on" AND ------------------- NO REMOTE !!!! Crap, it's in my truck back at the ramp!!?? But then i remember, i have a wireless remote "hand held" in my "gear box"........ Open my gear box and there it is --- bright red!!!! All is not wasted!!!! Slide the trolling motor over the side again --- push the "hand held" remote AND ----------------------- NOTHING !!!!!! Well, it's three years since i installed the batteries................. I decided to fish the point --anchored --- had a few hits, caught a couple of ladyfish, but without my trolling motor the onshore breeze made it imposible to fish, and a big ugly storm was trying to get between me and the inlet ---- so i headed for the ramp. Water temperature was 83 degrees, the water was really stained, could not see the bottom in three feet of water...[urlImage][/url]
But still a great trip !!!
Funny how you learn little leasons about batteries!!!
