Based on level of frustration that it sounds like my buddy Chalk has reached, I think I can rest assured that there may not be a "named creek" called "hickory mound creek"

I am vaguely familiar with the general area referred to as the "hickory mound impoundment". I wasn't sure if there were a specific spot on the water that may also be called hickory mound...I think there may be one down south but that's not what I'm dealing with here. My view/definition of the area is that it is East of Pitts Creek...South of Hwy 98...bordered on the east by Cow Creek Grade, on the West by Coker Rd. Both Coker rd and Cow Creek Grade seem to meet at a point south and form a levy/dike for the impoundment. There are two Creeks/outflows from the impoundment just about mid way on the levy. Those may be what I was hearing someone refer to as Hickory Mound Creek, but then again maybe not. My interest was to see if anyone knew of a specific spot called hickory mound creek and how to drive to the location and put in a canoe. If I'm on the right track I think I can now achieve that.

The creek most folks refer to as hickory mound creek is actually smith/mccollum creek. It is on the east end of hm impoundment. It is also called 3 snags in reference to the 3 snagged palm trees at the mouth. If you want to know anything more specific about it let me know.
