Ok I haven't been posting anything but I haven't been this summer and only once last summer due to job problems. So I need some advice, I'm going to St. George this weekend and don't have a clue where to begin there. Going with some friends that have a place there but dont fish. I wanted to show them a good time. Also, I've never chased scallops and wonder if thats productive there?

On another note, I am still looking for decent job. Evironmental/Plantation/ or anything stable. If the job situation doesn't improve soon I'm gonna have a really nice 2003 cobia forsale :smt011

Thanks,

Newboy

I wouldn't spend too much time (if any) on scallops. Sure, you should be able to find some, but your time may be spent better fishing (for things with scales that is.)
The trout and red bite should be good on the bay side of St. George Island. Reds will be up in the shallows 1 to 2ft of water. Trout "should" be in 4 to 6ft (if you are looking for numbers, or stick with the shallows if you are looking for a good un'.)

If you just want to put your buddies on some fish then I would recommend buying some Gulps and a Cajun Thunder and drift in 4 to 6ft of water. You will catch fish!

Thanks Capt. How is the makerel bite this time of year? Also is there any close structure that may hold some grunts? I have always enjoyed catchin them.
