Well it's the last day of the trip and we hope to find the spanish schools again. We get up at 5:30 again and get all our stuff packed and in the truck then got the bill settled on the cabin at 6:30 when they open. Got some gas and ice at Sheilds and topped off the oil in the motor. It's a good thing too because it was very low. The skys were pretty clear so we headed out to try to find the spanish schools again. We planned not to bother with scallops today and just fish. We made it half way out the channel beyond the lighthouse and the seas were terrible. The boat was coming clear out of the water and we took a wave over the bow. We abandoned trying to go west and went east to the rock garden where the water was calmer.

Uploaded with ImageShack.usWe had caught 1 fish when we noticed the rain building over by Live oak island with lots of lightning. So we decided to call it a trip and head in. We put on our raingear and headed into a stinging wall of rain. You could not see 50 yards. If not for the trail on the GPS we could not have navagated in. It took forever to find the channel. When we got to the turn at the lighthouse another boat flagged us down saying that their engine was over heating. We tied up to him and began the slow tow in.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us After a half a mile he said his motor was cool so we cut them loose and we ran in. We are thankful to God for our safe return. The power of the sea and weather is no joke. Know you and your boats limitations. Thanks again to my wife for surprising me with this trip. Love you baby I will remember it forever. Cant wait till next time we go fishing.

My hat's off to you for stopping and helping I fear that most would have thought only of their self preservation and drove right on by!

Wow didn't know I had helped a member. I didn't mind a bit. Good thing it's be a easy fix.

louisianna, has spoiled my wife and I, love fishing our gulf, but nothing like La.

Happy Birthday H & M. Glad everyone made it in safely. We scooted in two weekends ago just before the bottom fell out. At least with modern technology on cell phones you can keep an eye on the radar.
