I hope everyone got out this morning and took advantage of the red hot bite. We put little jonny in at the lighthouse around 6:20 and ran east. We started in the palmetto island area and found a school right away. I hooked up on the first cast with a gold aqua dream and hadnt tightened the drag yet so he spit the hook. Konrad quickly catches this one on small xrap.
After a quick pick I hooked up with this one
After that, the wind picked up and we lost the school. We moved east to our next spot and got into em good
We put the rods down about 10:30 and headed in. Total tally 18 keeper reds. Mostly 24-27".

Suweet! We didn't go back out yesterday, but we rode down to the lighthouse and the wind was really whipping at 10AM. Didn't see near as many on the flats as Saturday.

Wow, what a difference a day? makes. Great day David, thanks for restoring my faith. Saturday was so slow i didn't even want to go Sunday. We weren't quite as far east, but we were east. If not for a couple of large needlefish (oh boy!), and what bbecame bait, we wouldn't have caught anything, and we tried everything. Had 1 red follow a grunt to the boat, but more like an escort than a phungry predator. With Luc gone, starting to think I don't know what I'm doing, as if i ever did. Thanks for posting some success, like hitting the one good drive on a lousy day, at least there's a reason to go back. - John.

Very nice! We went Saturday and managed only trout and flounder in some of our best redfish spots. Some nice trout, but the reds were not interested. It sure felt like a fall day right at daybreak. Nice chill to the air.
