Sept 1, Keaton

My son and I went fishing Saturday out of Keaton. Went north between Spring Warrior and Rock Island. It was a beautiful day, light winds, partly cloudy with water a little murky. JT51 had it right about the bite. Seems the trout had too much Blue Moon celebration the night before and wasn't interested. The bite was very slow and very soft. Using everything in our box, we managed to catch seven keepers, mostly small. One in the 15" range, two in the sixteen and four in the seventeen.
I wouldn't say any one bait was the winner but the green/chart tail gulf shrimp may have had the edge?
What seemed strange, trout was about the only thing we caught. Very few trash fish.
We saw zero scallops!
