Needless to say, I was proud of him, we did not have that many birds flying and we only hunted for about an hour, I think he shot 4 times.
IMO, not bad for an Eight year old, I don't think I even shot a shotgun until I was 10.
I only shot twice at the same bird but I got him.


I must have seen 60 birds on the field on Thursday, but only a handful Saturday afternoon.

Let's see. Eight years old. First dove hunt. Only four shots to hit the grey ghost. I am thinking future Olympic skeet/trap medalist.

the second time he tried to shoot skeet was about a month ago and hit 8 of 10 once he got dialed in. This was with a high speed thrower. I loaded him up some tame 20 guage shells that did not kick that bad.
