Bay at st George

Hey all

Been reading this forum but never posted before. Was curious on some advice.

I haven't been able to fish for the past year, and have a trip planned to st George this weekend sep 21, 22.

We rented a place on the bay, and am going out on a john boat with some family that have never fished before so I'd really like for them to have a good time.

Any suggestions on what to use, or what depth to hang out in would be awesome.

Thanks much
~

Based upon the number of boats sinking lately I suggest 2 feet or less.

I've had pretty good luck in my Jon at rattlesnake cove and the one east of it, you can launch at the state park, it's the first landing you come to. Must be a small boat it's a dirt landing and your pretty protected in the coves from wind and white caps. There is a giant bar just off the landing that always seems to have some action

Bay can get rough in a hurry. Fish off the dock, if you have one, at night. If the jon boat has a motor you can float the 3-4 foot grass flats and fish the green spots. If no motor, I would wade fish. Jon boat is awful noisy.
