DL, KW and I headed down on Friday despite the weather forecast changing dramticaly over the past 24 hours from clear to a 40% chance of rain. We decided not to fish the tournament but we did get some live bait to have all options available for us. When we hit the water the water temp was 80 degrees on the nose. We stopped and picked up a few more pin fish in about 2 feet of water. The water was still stained to the point we could barely make out the botttom and grass in 2 feet of water. We headed to the first spot in around 4 feet of water. Live shrimp was what they wanted, holy cow, it was fast and furious from 9 AM - 1PM. We only had 50 shrimp and ran out around noon so we switched to GULP which they hit just as hard. Also, as added bonus, there were a bunch of sand/ silver trout mixed in with the specks. We picked up a nice 20" red and some nice rock bass. At the end of the day we has a limit of trout, all between 16-18, 17 sand trout and a nice red.

Thanks for a good report.

I didn't go but knew folks that did and they didn't do nearly as well.

Good job and nice report. Thanks. What depth produced the best success and did you run North or South from the Marina?
