I have two pictures on my phone of a weird aquatic species that was caught in a cast net at shell pt.
I am having trouble loading them on here. If a site sponsor or someone who can up load these pictures wants to PM me their email address and load them, I just want to see what this community thinks it may be. So far I have stumped two FWC officers,a biologist, few die hard fisherman & my vet.

This biologist and angler says it's a batfish. Many FWC Officers, especially the ones that work the deer and hog circuit, can barely identify those species, much less marine fishes.

Batfish. We have caught several over the years. My son took one to school and they hard a hard time identifying it.

Looks like a Ogcocephalid (Batfish). Ironically we just went over this species of fish in my Ichthyology lab up here at UGA. I called it the "chicken wing fish". Tell me one thing. Does it have two appendages on the bottom of its body??

We see them diving from time to time. There is one on this video at 2:30 that shows how they get around on the bottom.
