Looking for a solid all welded hull. Minimum of 16' with a 52" wide floor. Prefer nothing over 18'. NO rivets please. Oyster beds can do nasty things! Willing to drive a reasonable distance for the right deal. I don't need a motor. Age not important.

How good are you at welding aluminum?

I have a 17' Monark welded hull with about an 18 inch gash in the bottom where I hit a rock a month ago. It comes cheap with a drive on galvanized trailer.

If you want a new hull, I would look at the Aluma Crafts that Parkway Marine has. I would have bought my new hull from them, but they didn't have an 18 footer.

How wide is the galvinized trailer? I would be interested in it, if it is wide enough for my triton 1657.

You probably need to come take a look at it. If I could get $500 out of the entire set up, I would be happy. The trailer is worth about that. It has new tires, new rims, and new bunk supports. I just rebuilt everything before the boat sinking.

The boat really needs to be looked at by somebody who can weld aluminum. It's got scratch marks about 2' long on the bottom, then a gash about 12 - 18" long and about an inch wide. If it is patched, you will need to take all the floatation foam out of it. I am sure it is all saturated after my ride back to the lighthouse.

Yeah, that was me. I have a Miller 211 Mig welder now.

Looking at the pictures and the ripple in the medal, I think the damage portion will have to be cut out and a patch welded in. I have a bud who build aluminum boats and I am pretty sure he can fix it. If not, I know my buds at Brooks Welding can do the job. Have to remove the boat's old name and rename it Patches and play that old song as we go motoring along! lol
