I just read this an copied it here. I can't verify the accuracy but it sounds like it stinks if true, which it probably is.

There is a meeting occurring as I type this with the Gulf Council. It appears that the Charter Boats are one step closer to getting a percentage of the private anglers TAC. This will enable a few individuals to get rich while taking a fish which belongs to everyone and making money off of it. This is turn will cause the private angler to be allowed to keep less snapper. It is also being discussed right now to have a 1 red snapper per person limit next season instead of the 2 we have had for years.
This also just in... Council just voted on triggerfish management changes. Amendment 37 will: Create a recreational closed season for June and July. Establish a recreational 2 fish bag limit. Give in-season closure authority to NOAA fisheries if the recreational ACT is met.
