That is too cool.... on my wish list for sure!
I road in TC's boat and saw tree limbs and rocks that I'd have never know were there. AMAZING technology!

My plan for 2013 is to fish more around Ecofina and Aucila and learn to use SI to aid in catching fish on the flats. From my few attempts earlier this year at Keaton I think I need to make some transducer mounting changes to get max benefit of SI in 2-6' FOW. I need to get a second transducer and mount both very close to the surface on each sponson.

I think your unit is defective, does not appear to be properly displaying GPS coordinates for the hard bottom. Please have unit adjusted and repost with full info

Thanks
That is very nice. I have an older model Lowrance and I have been thinking about getting a new unit. I'll check that one out.

Lowrance just came out with the HDS touch. I'm a long time HB user (20+ years) and love them from my old 300, 797, and now 998 but the new hds touch has me thinking about lowrance. The Gen2 HDS's you had to have a second box to get SI, which means more rigging and with my little boat was not really an option but the new hds has both SI and GPS built in, the HB's do not have built in gps you get a puck in the box and have to mount and route cables to head unit. It is generally accepted that HB has the best shallow water SI performance.
HB is coming out with the new version of the 998 in Jan, it has LED back light and is even more viewable in sunlight than the current 998 which is middle of the road in certain sun conditions. Deals on the current version of 998 are hard to beat though and I would expect that closer to X-Mas deals will be even better.
