Best Tides for St. Marks

For bank fishing near the launch on the Crawfordville side of the river would any particular tidal condition be best? I thought maybe the last of an outgoing tide would be good, but with a north wind the water would probably be too fresh. Any help would be
appreciated. I just moved here and haven't bought a boat yet. I'd be interested in anything of decent size that I can eat...sheepshead, trout, reds.

I prefer the begining of the fall or rise. You may also want to try the Newport Bridge landing also. Lots of Sheepies and Reds can be caught there, the colder the better.

Thanks for the info. Is the Newport Bridge the one where 98 crosses? Is the water salty that far upstream on the St. Marks River (only on a high tide)?

The tides will still affect fishing around the bridge. If you have ever been over the bridge throughout the day, you can see a major difference between high and low.
