I'm considering getting a few, 3-5, bait traps. I've looked on the regulations board and haven't been able to find anything concerning trapping bait fish.

1. Is there any regulations on using bait traps and if so does anyone have a link to the regs.

1A. Does anyone use them and if so what do you recomend?

Thanks,

I was talking to Capt. Jay at the Social about them, he made some good points, people will steal them (traps), you have to go set them....you can generally catch all you want if your in the right place. I guess it's how you feel about going and setting them the day before a trip or taking time that morning to load up on bait.

As far as I know there is no creel limit on bait type fish, if your using small game fish that would probably follow the lines of standard fishing rules and regulations.

Just me rambling, I didn't look in the book :smt102

Greetings - New to the forum. You will find the regulations for your bait trap at the FWC web site. Florida Statute 370.1105.
If I don't get out early to pick up my bait trap at Keaton Beach, it will be empty when I get to it. So try to find a spot of the beaten path,

The key to not getting it stolen is to get one like I got, huh Chalk.
It was given to me as a gift. It's blue plastic about 2foot long, by 18inches high. No one knows what it is, so they won't mess with it.
BTW, if my daughter is reading this post, I really love it baby doll. :o

If you mark it, use a plastic coke bottle with the label peeled off

Mark it with your GPS, you have to be right on top of it to see it

Or don't put a float on it and pull it up with a gaff (watch the tides)
