I love mine! I've got a 17' Key West Sportsman and it holds great. I've used in up to 15 kt winds with a pretty strong tide and had no problems. I've even used it as a push pole in a pinch.

Thanks... what length did you get? I watched the online video and seems pretty nice.
Did you get it with "the brake" system or just the pin itself ?

I have the 8' w/ out the brake. A friend has the brake and when the conditions are some what rough, the up and down of the boat tends to make it come loose. I just use the rope that came with it. I use the small rope for keeping the boat straight on the sandbars at the Flint.

I also have the 8' without the brake. I tie about 8' of line to it and a cleat and it holds fine. I often think about the money I saved by not buying a power pole.

Sounds like the way to go and a cheap way to stay put sitting out in front of the lighthouse when they're biting.

8' without the brake. Great product. Doubles as an emergency push pole also. Parkway Marine sells them.

The Wang Anchor Pole is another alternative.
I use it with both the boat and kayak, no brake, just some line attached to it.

Thanks, the Wang system uses a stainless steel tip which is a pretty good thing. Not sure on the Stickit... Anyone ?

No on the Stickit pin but it doesn't need it. Mine not showing much wear after several years of use. I'd say it's not an issue.

Thanks, is it made out of a fiberglass? Seems that's the norm from looking around.

The anchor pin pole that I have is from Shallow Water Solutions, and it has a stainless steel tip.
